Don Spady Scholarship

The  Don Spady Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually.  This program was established  by the Portland BA  in memory of our late Past President and Executive Secretary. Mr. Spady was an esteemed member of the Portland Bowling Association and the Portland Bowling Community, Portland Police Department, and a member of the Greater Portland Bowling Hall of Fame. In his honor, we wish to provide assistance to an outstanding amateur youth bowler that maintain at least a 2.5/4.0 GPA or equivalent. The candidate must show good bowling potential, a good attendance record in his leagues, and leadership capacities, both on and off the lanes.  The applicant must be a current Youth member having purchased his membership card in the Greater Portland USBC Youth or in college and had not joined an adult league.

Corky Talley Scholarship

Corkey Talley was a long time supporter of youth bowling in the Portland area, and requirements include bowling potential, attendance in bowling leagues and school, and leadership qualities. To be eligible, candidates must be amateur bowlers who are high school students (preceding the application deadline) and maintain at least a 2.5/4.0 GPA or equivalent..

Danny Crevier was a fine young man and bowler whom lost his life in a tragic automobile accident returning from a bowling tournament.  To be eligible, candidates must be amateur bowlers who are high school students or in college (preceding the application deadline) and maintain at least a 2.5/4.0 GPA or equivalent. In addition, the applicant must exhibit bowling potential, sportsmanship,  and leadership qualities.
